Looking good. Sun-up is about 6:50. I'll be there 6:30am if the forecast doesn't change.

See you on the water.

I'll be there if it's windy and not NE! Bet it doesn't come in until work time though!

I'm trying to think positive - a triumph of hope over experience this season though. Keep 'em crossed - it might be a good session.

No, didn;t bother in the end. I woke up and saw the rain and figured that it was going to be gusty as hell until the rain cleared. From what I've seen of the chart this morning, I was right.

Looking very windy now mate. I'll be sailing the change this evening I reckon - Dawson St or St. Kilda.

I was there on my own again

Was windy but choosing the right sail was a problem - I rigged a 5.4 at 6:50 and by the time I was at the waters edge it was raining and the wind was going ballistic so I decided to derig and go for the 4m. Had a few good runs then it backed off - could still get going but couldn't do much. Should have gone for the 4.7m!!!

Will try again tomorrow, probably at Ricketts, fingers crossed!

So where were you all this morning?

Another morning with good wind from dawn - had a fun session on 4.7 at greenpoint. Good for flakas on the inside and forwards out the back.

Hopefully the wind sticks around for an after work session as well.

I was still nursing the bruising I got last night at GP...

Went out on a 4.2, blobbed (severely), came back in, let off LOADS of downhaul as the wind picked up just a touch, went back out had a decent run, then got absolutely nuked...

Six attempts to waterstart - kept on getting flattened, and took the worst beating I've experienced in years. Far too little downhaul, far too much wind. Ah well - lesson learned. Tonight I'll probably be further up the coast - flat water in St. K maybe.

Sounds like what you need is a ratchet extension so you can apply more downhaul while you're on the water!

I'll be back out tomorrow morning if there's wind - maybe see you then!

I was thinking that as I was getting munched. Trouble is that I think only North make 'em, and then only in europin fitting...

...which means that I have to buy new deckplates as well. It's an expensive option all up - not far off $400AUD (AUD265 for the extension plus AUD100+ for a deckplate).

Would have saved my ass yesterday though.
