Tonight was good at Elwood again, the wind stayed south from 3pm until 6pm but might be better at ricketts or mentone the next few days

Bonno was great last night slalom like conditions. Sailed from 4 til 6:30. The wind stayed in till very late.
Jman is right for more easterly winds. Last night was SSE. Direct cross shore at Bonno.

we have got more easterly winds coming. Where is the best spot close to port Melbourne?

Williamstown or Rickett's Point?

have you actually tried port melbourne? it's quite good for jumping in an easterly.. right out the front of the life saving club where the road bends around

Sorry it's better in a SE or SSE... later today will be SE so should be perfect there. Sometimes though those easterlies dont come all the way up the bay, but today looks promising

where is area 45?

Just after Area 44 and before Area 46
Where someone got 46 kts on a 2 sec peak speed on an easterly last year.
Where the Inverloch Windsurfing Club president had to be rescued one year
Where a few others have also had to be rescued.
Where they caught a man in a grey suit last week.
Where there are no kiters and only gentle fisher folk aaaah
Where a club member's sail was found in the water 3 months after he abandoned it at Area 44
Where if you sail too far into the mud flats you have a long and sink to your knees walk out of it
Where you have flat water for 3/4 of a nautical mile then 200 mtrs of man eating/board eating/ bone crushing diamond shaped standing chop
Where club members are often staying overnight to get another brilliant sail in the next day(downside to that as they are often caught singing Cum bi ahh my Lord around the campfire)
Where there are no golden sandy beaches
Where you have to get a passport from the Southerly Busters GPS Team to be able to get on the water
Not a nice place to go to at all

5 minutes past Inverloch

And seriously this place is isolated so always sail with a buddy or come doiwn with one of our club members

I think what Doug was trying to say was - Mahers Landing, Andersons Inlet Yuppy. The more the merrier!

As a former southerly buster and one of IWC's original founders you have permission to sail at 45 at anytime! :)

Isn't is so painfully obvious, Old Salty?

You failed to use enough emoticons to express your mirth, you clown ()

I think some people may have read your silliness for seriousness .....

To come back to the original subject of this post...Ricketts was absolutely honking on Wednesday 20th Feb after work. FB showed 35 knots E when I packed up at 8pm. Hard to get a park at times when it's good, but...well ..it was worth it. Just watch the reef to the north of Ricketts. Great spot in E and W... and did I say it's my home beach?

Currently 15kts Easterly gusting to 20 kts at Inverloch just perfect.
Inverloch Windsurfing Club has got Nick Maloney Core Boardsports coming down today for some beginner/advanced wave sailing. Wind direction is perfect. Then afterwards I think a few will be heading for Area 45 for some flat water blasting. Rumour has it The Pit crew are doing a bomb on the Southerly Busters territory

Another great session at 45 today, much the same as Wednesday. Really good conditions. Plenty of guys out. Was going to sail at the surf beach but had a look at 45 and decided to stay.

Ah Evan the surf was the place to be at Invy today, uncrowded crystal clear water and no mud I do like 45 though when you give me permission to sail there

Due to the lack of swell at sandy I went exploring yesterday and sailed bear gulley, it was cross shore and I was using a 4.7. There was enough wind chop to get some good jumping and some small wave rides and it's a beautiful peice of coast to sail. I have been thinking of sailing it for years in an easterly.

Yep Area 45 went off today. A few of the Busters got pbs. Wind was mainly 15 - 20kts plus we got an hour of 25 - 30kts. Funniest comment of the day was Dean marching out to the water saying how he does not like windy days and prefers the light wind stuff then pops out a personal best 2 sec peak of 37kts. Woohoo go Dean

The surf spot did look good when I came past on the way home, you guys were still out enjoying it. But 45 was good too.

I know how precious you are about your sailing conditions so didn't think you would want permission to sail in the less than ideal water conditions of 45
