Dolphin Spotting

I said we needed a dolphin spotting thread so here it is...

Last night aprox 6pm @ Chelsea, bottom of Newington Parade. Pod of 3 Black dolphins playing 20-50mtrs from shore. Scared off by jetskiers at around 7.15.

Whats the number to call if you see jet skiers harassing dolphins?

Pfff... Jetskiers..... no surprises there.... where's my rum... need to beat my wife.

Hi Jez,

Depending on how close to shore they were and what other zones exist at Chelsea, it could be something to report to your local laws officer at Kingston, and to Parks Vic.
I think you could also call your local coppers (or the water police) and if you can pass on their rego numbers, the boys in blue would follow it up.

Hi Jez,

They were insude the no boating markers going well over the 5kt limit.

Today at Chelsea pod of 5 or 6 dolphins splashing about at around 7pm.

No Jet ski's this time. Beautiful to watch.

(dolphins are one of the few 'creatures' I enjoy seeing in the water)

I will film it because you only see the fin for a split second.

Will post it back here. They seem to come out around dusk on warm calm days.
