Hi everyone,

I'm trying to track down a piece of carbon tube about 50mm in diameter and 700mm long. If anyone has a broken mast that's over about 60% carbon they'd like taken off their hands in exchange for cash please let me know.

Thanks,

Tom

If you're going to try to shim the break, keep it short and feather the ends out so that it doesn't create a rigid point where the mast wants to flex. I've successfully shimmed both windsurfing masts and a carbon sup paddle.

I probably have a section but unless you're on the West coast of Vic it might be best to look closer to home.

Thanks, did you manage to find anything? I'm actually using it on a hydrofoil moth as a compression strut, hence the need for high carbon content etc.

Got a 520 100% Severne Redline that got damaged by those crap streamlined boom fittings HPL were using a while back, rivet sticking out that wore a hole in the mast.
Could be sleeved but I will never get around to it.

I am in Sandringham, PM me and I will give you my phone number
