Does Bonbeach get the full benefit of a southerly wind or does Olivers Hill in Frankston tend to block it? Do I need to go further up?

Thinking about it for tomorrow afternoon, with a possible 25knots Southerly as I have the afternoon off work. I have also never sailed further north than Frankston and I'm trying to minimise how far I have to go.

Thanks ahead for the info.

Hi leman, I am heading back to the pit tomorrow. Me brother is going in the compition..I will be his camera man and caddy... Bonbeach does get better wind and no oliver hill does not block the wind from Bonbeach.. Bonbeach is good in a SW cold front and seabreeze, but when we do get a south westly seabreeze the seabreezes seem a little stronger up at Dendy st or Ricketts.. The beachs from Mentone on wards to St. kilda get the full city seabreeze effect, wich is caused from the city heating up dune the day..

Hey I posted some pics of sandy point that day you were there in the wave forum you might want to check out too..

When it is SW I will just sail around here. I am just thinking of tomorrow afternoon only when it is meant to swing more south. The wind won't be seabreeze driven tomorrow, so my only concern is the land effecting the wind directly south of Bonbeach.

You guys enjoy Sandy.

In a southly it's fine Bonbeach it's perfect for bump and jump type windsurfing as it's side shore..
