He does an excellent job. My mates and I have used him before and have never been dissapointed with the repair job. He fixed my mates JP that was snapped in 2, couldn't tell it was repaired when looking at it. Going direct also cuts out SHQ's little margin that they add to freight it off to their preferred repairer.

Post a pic and lets have a look. It might be easier than you think.

Oke just did a great job on a small ding on my speed board. Can't even see where the original mark was. And it was ready the day after I took it in!

+3 1/2 for me. Had a nice set of boards in the showroom. Had me dribbling and they where just surfboards

Yeah the blokes at OKE are great. If they don't think it needs fixing they won't do the job just for the coin !

OKE were quick to re-grip and paint a board of mine, and nice blokes to deal with.

However....they may have been a bit too quick with the re-grip. When I picked up the board and got home I had to clean a fair bit of still wet resin which dripped down the rails of the board. Very sticky and ugly.

They also seemed to use a very coarse and dence sugar coat, unlike a production sugar coat. Sand particles seem to get stuck within the sugar coat granules.

I have since sanded the sugar coat back slightly to fix this. I am considering a re-grip in the future (as part of a custom paint job). Not sure if I will take it back to them or try it myself. If I get it gripped at OKE I will definately discuss with them a more appropriate sugar-coat.

On the plus side, they did re-attach a foot of nose from another board of mine. Very good job, but again sugar coat different to the rest of the board.

*Dont* sand the grip - salt, sand, sanding dust, etc, are all normal -> it will take a few sessions to dissolve.

And thanks for the idea of fixing it myself too Bondalucci, damage was minor and cosmetic and a little epoxy and sanding fixed that, though im certainly keen to have a shot at a more serious repair should i need to one day.

I dropped into Oke and they had a look and its only going to cost about $20 more for them to match the white AND re-do the pinstipes AND touch up the non skid, than it was for me to get the white colour ONLY matched and put into an aerosol can for me to have a shot........ $20 well spent i figure, and a more complete job to boot.

Now all i need is a sail repairer to fix the sail i damaged today..... aaargh

Yeah Meester sails. Have used him plenty, always happy with his work, he fixed my harness once as well when one of the straps broke.

He can be busy sometimes as he mainly repairs yacht sails, but used to make and sell his own brand of windsurfing sails. Very reasonable prices too.

There is also Horizon Sails in Sandringham - not cheap, but the do dedicate Wednesdays to fixing windsurfing and kiting sails, so you know exactly when it will be ready.

Sail repairs - you cant go past Lindsay Irwin at Irwin Sails (whisper whisper - he does the repairs for at least one of the Melb windsurf shops). He's an ex-windsurfer himself and also a 14ft skiff world champion so knows how to make a sail... he's repaired several wavesails for me over the years. And.., he's a neighbour of mine and a nice guy!

Re Meester sails. Has been owned for years by James Thomson under the name of Thomson Sails. Due to our cold weather, he has been forced to go to French Polynesia where he is working on a boat. As of last week, he advised me that he will not be back in Melbourne until October.

Not sure if the loft in Glen Huntley Road is still rented by him, but if you need to contact him, it can be done on 0403 011 062 when he returns.
