Seems like we need to be a bit more careful. Mate was walking along Mordy beach this morning and saw a heap of blue bottles on the beach. I hear the sting is really painful.

Nah, they will be gone by the time Victoria gets any decent wind again (if at all for the remainder of this year!)

I was walking the dog and could hear a popping noise under my bare feet. Looked down and saw the noise was me standing on them and popping there "bottles"..., sounds like popping bubble wrap..

Saw a blue bottle jelly fish floating 200-250m off Elwood beach today. Hope it's not a sign that they are invading PPB.

I am concerned they are. They are everywhere around Mordialloc lately. And the other thing is the increased sightings of blue ringed octopii. Bit scary really. Heard nothing from Parks Victoria about any risks though.

Lots on the beach at Port Melb this morning. Was there some sort of 'ideal conditions' (breeding, wind, tides) for them to have been washed into the bay?
