In the Netherlands we say: if you never try to shoot you'll always miss! So here is my question.
Do you live in Melbourne near the beach (walking distance), do you have windsurf gear you do not use (enough) and would you like to make a bit of money...? I am a dutch girl, living in Melbourne for studies, and I would love to rent your gear. I have no money to buy a car en gear and all (internship, don't get paid), and renting in shops is way to expensive for me (about a 100 per 2 hours) but I really want to go out windsurfing! It would be on my own risk of course (don't worry, my parents can help if I break something) and I'll be happy to leave my passport or something as a bond. I am at moderate level, 120/130 liter board. Brought my own suit & trapeze.
May be a bit of a strange add but I'm just a bit desperate, especially after a day as today (sun and wind), sitting on the beach and watching all the lucky surfers! Thank you very much for your understanding ;-)
I'd love to help you out but my location is the main issue. I don't live near the bay. However most weekend I do sail down at Inverloch. I'm happy to let you tag along and use all my spare gear for free but of coarse it would mean getting down to Cranbourne on the train first.
You may find it difficult to rent gear of people privately here in Oz, but once you get to know a few sailors down the beach they will be more than happy to help you out for free. Come down to one of the WV events and meet some people there and go for a ride on some of the supporting stores demo boards. Check out www.wv.org.au for more information on upcoming events.
