A 90 mile sandy beach is a very long beach so there is not a lot of variety, and the inshore gutter and dumping shorebreak is very un-freindly to wave-sailing! It is often VERY windy though!

However. Near Lake Tyres, just a few KM's from Lakes Entrance is Red Bluff, or as the locals call it 'The Bluff'. It is a very rare bit of a sandstone point reef on this section of coast that can have some epic left hand surf every now and then,

. There are also sand bars covering reef for a few hundred meters to the east of it towards the Lake Tyres entrance which could produce some excellent wave sailing as well in Easterly and East-North easterly winds (cross to cross-off and quite common in the summer months).
There were a few wave sailors down there in ancient times but I don't think there are any left now. If you are keen, its well worth a try though.
Otherwise it's back to the west of the Prom at Waratah Bay/Sandy Point. Actually, about Two and half hours away.
Do want to join us in the sometimes epic speed sailing fun at Sandy Point too?
