Well I am getting out there at 7.30am at St kilda. I will freeze my ass off, but on the same note I'll be grinning ear to ear and loving it! (with icycles hanging out of my nose)

I know a bunch of you are going to Sandy Point, but those of you staying around the bay on this gorgeous WSW, who's going where when?

EDIT: Relocated to Mentone.

I'd be nice to have a mate with a heli licence to give us a lift eh? Its probably only 20 minutes in a heli!

Was flying one the other night, stole it of course, then I thought it would be funny to jump out of it at high altitude and see what happens - death did unfortunately, but then I just restarted outside the hospital and stole a car to have another crack at the coptor..... GT4

Well today sucked. Set up and stood on the beach for 20 minutes then packed up and went home. I guess at least I didn't actually have to get wet.

We waited for it to hitover here in the West (Vic)...when it didn't, started doing the pacing around the house, and a couple of drives to see if it was hiding somewhere...very fickle, maybe tomorrow!

Tomorrow, which is now today, had better hurry up. Looks like it is stuck down at Portland. Car all loaded up, family put on hold, tight knot in the stomach!

Bit up and down. Two board changes. Two sail changes but got wet and had fun. Best bit a few mins with three dolphins going around and under board and watching them play in the whitecaps off ricketts. Glad it was the right fin especially when on and off plane

Exactly when I was down there. Took a newly acquired 2009 Kode and 5.3 Kult out and that was all I rigged up. Adjusting the outhaul was all it took.

But I did lose about 30mins when the second front came through and thought a mate had been caught in it. Turns out he was trying to quickly make his way back in before the front hit, but stopped for a guy who was a tad nervous and completely abandoned his rig, and hung on to my mates board. This was his first day moving from a 155L to a 110L board, so confident he wasn't.

Big thanks to whoever it was who sailed by and dragged the guy back in. My mate would have been in trouble with this guy hanging off the back of a board he was just getting used to himself.

PS. Saw the rescuee's brother on the beach, and he said his car key was attached to the board.

Nuts conditions here yesterday...between 25-35kts & gusts over 40kts! I had my smallest gear on which was way too big & had a few breaks on the beach waiting for it to calm down to 30 so I could get back out there.

A gust took out a panel in a mate's sail, and another mate rigged a 4.5(?) with a basketball-sized hole in the top panel & he was still way overpowered!

Good times.

[edit] The strong winds we got could have had something to do with the tornado that came through not far from here yesterday...

Haha, I feel for you Waggle. Such a big effort for you to get the time, would be nice for the wind gods to answer your prays.

Sunday afternoon at about 1:30pm it came through really nice at Mornington. I managed to get an hour in before my party guests arrived. Honestly would have prefered to keep sailing than running the party for my Uni friends.
