This little trip is nothing new. I just wanted to share a little inspiration with the other potential longboard sailors who are rumoured to be hiding out there. I am yet to see these creatures in real life- maybe they are just "phantoms"

While the wind at Lagoon Bay was fickle at best, I had the most steady and consistent 15 plus knots for 90 minutes of fantastic sailing out to West Head, back to Low Head then into Lagoon. All the reefs were completely covered by the high tide, making it a most pleasurable sail.

I would have gone further but this was the first proper sail of the season and my arms were buggered by the end.

27.5km in 1hr 40mins approx.

Tomorrow afternoon is looking good for a bit of ocean sailing. High tide and 15-20 knots NW in the afternoon.

If anyone is keen let me know. Even a cruise from Lagoon around to East Beach for anyone who wants a shorter run.

There's a Southern Phantom often spotted off Pearsons Pt. in the Derwent! Have a look today.....You might catch a glimpse of the 30 YO vintage sail. On a Winsurfer Sailboard. The sailors age is undisclose.

A little run this arvo out to Five Mile Bluff and back. About 23km. 10-15 knots and a very high tide. Came back in to East Beach.

I may head out for a cruise over to West Head from Lagoon this arvo if anyone is interested.

ENE should mean a reach out and back.

By the way last time went out to Beechford and back. 30 odd km.

Not much wind anywhere up north today.

I will head up to Trevallyn Dam with a long board or two if anyone is keen for a bit of railride or D2 action. I can take a learner kit up too if anyone out there wants a bit of a go or further instruction.

Should be there around 4pm. I'll check in here for emails before I head up.
