The West Coast Wave Classic is on again starting on Australia day Thurs Jan 26 2012 (Public holiday) based from Port Lincoln SA. The event is on the same weekend as the Tunurama (as last year) and is a busy tourist long weekend for Port Lincoln causing a lot of accomodation to be booked out. Start planning your holiday to the West Coast now so you dont miss out! Last years expression session winner Ben Severne, is keen to come again and we also have verbal commitment from OES Maui boardriders Russ Faurot, Nick Warmuth and Diego. KOTP needs to return and defend his SUP race title too After Sunday we will be travelling up the Far West Coast for 4-5days to chase the wind and waves so come along for a experience of a lifetime!

Sounds great Rob, not sure whether anyone will be going over this year from Tassie but we should get a bunch of guys organised and do a trip some time.
Tassie's west coast is pretty wild with crazy swells and great sailing, is SA the same .
How many hours driving is it from Melb to SA west coast?
We've been to WA a few times cos the wind is so consistant, what's the wind like in SA around Jan?

Hi Houston,
About 8hrs from Melbourne to Adelaide then another 7 from Adelaide to Lincoln or the West Coast.
Jan is good on Eyre Peninsula with winds every time we have a high ridge in we get 2-4 days of SE which provides cross to cross off conditions where we sail providing DTL conditions. Had 2 good days of wind for last years comp. Obviously conditions can really turn it on too which is why Ben Severne is keen to come back again, do a search of last years WCWC and you'll find some pics. Keen to come and see Tassie soon too!
