Wave sizes

For those out there that have ever been wavesailing in Tassie and had the fortunate luck of getting in a heated discussion with me about wave sizes, you might like to take a look at the link below.

Houston, when its the height of your 400 mast, it's 8foot not 12 foot! Proof is in the table of the link below[}:)][}:)]

When its just over head high its about 4 foot, not 6.

Sorry mate gotta disagree- head high=2-3 at best
A wave that is just over head high wave is never 4 ft.
I prefer Small, head high, ohead, dble ohead- and F$%^ that where's the beer

I would agree to say that your disagreement is actually agreeing that I disagree with what others would say!

Head high is definately only just around 2-3 foot , overhead 3-4 depending

i agree with buzzy 4 ft is definately well overhead and is starting to get big the wave will be powerful take a lot of effort to punch thru (surfboard) and generally have a large back to the wave. its a common thing for surf size to be over estimated. i would aiways imagine that the water was flat and then estimate the size from that point not taking the trough into account at all. also on a sandbar it may be ie: 3 foot jacking to 4 in the shallow water at the point of breaking and should be described as such.
