Next Saturday 4th Dec we are holding a wave sailing/fun day for everyone, doesn't matter whether you've sailed for years, never been in the waves before or just want to watch, come down and just have heaps of fun.
Wave comps in Tassie are never taken seriously, usually just an excuse to get everyone together and try something different.
The comp side of the day consists of an expression session which is; everyone getting out there and sail anyway you like, at the end of the day we all vote on who we think are the 1st, 2nd and 3rd best sailors, who had the biggest crash, who had the longest walk back up the beach, the youngest sailor.
Great sponsors this year donating a free suasage for all winners
Great fun, no pressure, BBQ, and a sociable day so pass the word around.
Best spots for this will be Goats (NE), Sandpits or Carlton (NW-W), Clifton (S).
We'll watch the forecast and pick the spot closer to the weekend so keep an eye out on this forum.

oh yeah, Anthony, you may say wave contests in Tassie are not serious!.
Some of us take them very seriuosly, while you boys have been fiddling with you 'Girly play sets' ( GPS), Brett Jordon Karan and myself have been doing some training.
So please dont bring your gps,s to a wave contest!!!, ![]()
Yer i saw that, i nearly did at Dorans but NE gusty Dorans didnt quiet do it for me.
I thought you would have gone out cremorne front beach!
I'll give you my work number, i think you have my personal phone which i dont really carry around too much (i need a phone that takes two sims)
Work number: 0437 678 970
Option 1 - Staurday:
Maybe OK for the pond so we could hold 'King of the Pond' which consists of everything we didn't hold at 'King of Doran's'
Option 2 - Sunday:
Possibly a NE coming in at Goats so we could hold the 'Goats Wave sailing Classic' which could be a real classic with a small swell in not much wind.
Either option, as with all sailing in Tassie definitley has potential and could be once in a lifetime epic sail, you gotta be there to get the experience
Weekend forecast:
Saturday: Northwest winds 10 to 20 knots, variable to 15 knots inshore, tending
westerly during the morning then south to southwest at 15 to 25 knots in the
afternoon. Areas of sea fog. Seas 1 to 2 metres, rising later. Southwest swell
around 2 metres, although confused east of Tasman Island.
Sunday: Southerly winds 5 to 15 knots tending east to northeast at similar speed
by late afternoon, locally 20 knots at times. Seas to 1.5 metres. Southwest to
southerly swell 1.5 to 2 metres building to 2.5 to 3 metres late.
After discussing with Anthony:
Due to the poor forcast for tomorrow, the contest will be run on Sunday ( looks like better chance of it happening).
Cheers Damien, ( Anthony's secretary).
"just grand"?
why, tally ho old chap, would be magnificant, eh what.
Droughty says w/sw at the moment, does that mean the front has gone through?
well that was a surprise, got some really big wind, I think I changed sails and boards and fins,
It really came in
Well what a bugger, we should have held the Wave Fun Day at Clifton yesterday. Blowing like buggery i was completely over powered with 5.3m could have gone for 4.2
swell slowly built, getting big out of control jumps and even a few good backside wave rides.
5 guys all got thoroughly trashed but had a ball.
See what happens today, Ill be out of action with a sprained knee caused by a beautifully perfected Houston manoever: 'back push forward pike tack goiter jump' where I got totally trashed and very saw
