Love the rope idea, I take it is their to let you know when they are getting to far away as it tugs on your toe to wake you up

Johnny all I can say is location location!!!! what do you mean it was the only board you can take??? had the thought not crossed your mind to leave the food and clothes at home to fit the board quiver in? You've gotta get your priorities in check man. I think the rope idea certainly gives piece of mind but it I have found it creates carnage when I jibe

And yep, I've taught quite a few people here with a 200m rope on a hosereel - give kids a great amount of confidence, but long enough to get balance and feel the sail/wind. I might try the rope tied to a gumtree at Rosevears ey!?

Great idea Johnny I might try the rope idea next time I sail BOL. Could also be helpful at a looping clinic, just sail flat out hit a wave get some air just as you run out of rope
