It's looking like it might be a good weekend on the water. Not much in the way of waves I suspect given the last few days of NE winds, but it doesn't take much to go ballistic. Again, ramp-aspirants and newbies should tak the opportunity - Bellbuoy from lunchtime on tomorrow (Saturday), and then probably the same, but with smaller sails on Sunday.

I'm keen for Sunday. The tides look average. But after lunch you think?

The plan for today is leave Launceston about 12.00 to be on the water as the tide is dropping.

The plan for tomorrow (Sunday) will follow the same logic, with slightly different timing.

The wind was pretty crazy yesterday and the swell was slow to build up. We arrived at Bell Buoy expecting 25 to 30 knots and instead got a Gusty 30 to 40 knot westerly with a messy swell. There was a bit of carnage to both boards and bodies in the crazy gusts, jumping is always difficult in those wind conditions and the falling tide seems to kill the swell. We then moves to East for a Low tide sail where it was still gusty but the swell really started to build up. Cross off conditions still made sailing difficult but at least there were no rocks to deal with.

I would drive straight through if I were you - Magicseaweed seems to be by far the most reliable, and it says - 'Keep driving'.
