Thanks for posting this photo of the late Chris Hewitt (aka Curly), a friend of mine from the past. I had to correct the alignment of the photo out of respect to him. I have never seen this before, possibly from Sailboard Extra ? Now Chris Hewitt, was a keen windsurfer and dedicated triathlete, who studied law LLB and I believe BSc in Tasmania and moved to Perth in the early 1990s and became one of WA's top intellectual property lawyers and President of Triathlon Australia. Tragically in 2006 he passed away from a heart failure while on a training run. May his memory be a blessing.
www.triathlon.org.au/About/Celebration_of_Champions/The_Chris_Hewitt_Emerging_Athlete_Award.htm Thanks so much for this, Richard. I was going to ask if anyone recognised the guy in the photo, but I thought it was pretty unlikely, considering that windsurfing was way bigger back then and most of the sailors from that era probably wouldn't still be in touch with the sport. I was wrong! It was great to hear about Chris, and sad to hear of his passing. We really need to make every day count.
Yes, it's from Sailboard Extra. I was lucky enough to get hold of a few issues recently, and am looking for more.
(Sorry the pic was sideways; I didn't know how to position it properly)Cheers
