Visiting the in-laws at Kayena again in a few weeks. So, I have been on the Tassie Spot guide looking at options.
Have tried The Lagoon and Kelso Bay. Spoke to some of the regulars at Rosevears and think that might be a bit beyond me. Not a wave sailor and only have an old 84cm wide Free Formula board down there.
Thinking of a trip to Port Sorell if I can. Going to be a bit time limited this trip.
I am also looking at Redbill Point at Beauty Point on Google, and am wondering if it might be a reasonable spot for some safe flat water closer to Kayena?
Tried a search on here but found no mention of it, and not listed on the spot guide. Anyone sailed there or can tell me if it is a possibility, or should it be avoided for some reason?
Cheers Clarence. Will go and check it out, looks like a nice sandy bottom. I think I went for a look at Paper Beach a few visits back at low tide and there seemed to be a fair few rocks? Unless I am thinking of somewhere else.
Don't sail at redbill point without boots. Sailed there a few years ago, mostly muddy then you will hit a random patch of oysters. If it's easterly you can take off from the shelter near the fish shop. But if it's easterly just go to Kelso instead
