Looks like a bit of a westerly at the end of the week and low tides around midday. Are any of the channels working OK in this direction at the moment?

Yep, Third Channel should be good. Anything from WNW to SW would do the trick in the southern section.
Not nearly as long a run as the eastern bank in easterlies. The western bank disappears with the tide an hour or so quicker than the east side. But its more or less in the same shape its been for the past 12 months or so.
Tides a bit lower than they have been for a couple of weeks, which is ideal.
Second Channel is also doable, but is a bit shallow in places, particularly the middle section.

I'm pretty keen. Will be in Strahan Thursday, so plan to drive to Stanley early Friday. Then maybe sail Port Sorell on Saturday.

Looks like a morning and an afternoon session for Friday, either side of low tide at midday.

Dave in that wind direction you will want to keep sailing at low tide 10.55 am its a 0.83 low so enough water over in the 3rd channel

Agree with James, Port Sorell looks good for Friday! Stanley looks better for Sunday.

I'm pretty keen to try Stanley in a westerly again and forecast isn't looking too bad, so looks like it'll be Stanley versus Port Sorell!!

I'm going to head up to Stanley tomorrow and sail with Dave + Baz & Cookie if they rock up, just to spread the team out a bit.
