Hey guys,

Wondering if anyone has sailed sisters beach, and knows anything about it? I'll be spending a few days up there in June, and hoped to get on the water, but I know there are a LOT of rocks at low tide, a little like Ulverstone and Tomahawk. Can't help but feel a little worried about them.
Does anyone know if there are rocks out in the wider bay that should be looked out for?

While I'm typing, only 1 person who shall remain anonymous has given me any info on Sailing spots around tassie - thanks Ben - ....

Hi Johnny
Ive sailed at Sisters Beach regularly for many years.
Rocks are not really a problem if you stick to the middle of the beach, from the creek for about 300 metres east there are no rocks at all.
but where you see rocks on the foreshore either side of this section there are also submerged rock hazards for 20 to 50 metres further out to sea for a considerable distance in both directions.
but there is plenty of space in the middle of the beach.
Sisters can be a fun place to sail in a range of conditions WSW, NW, NE.
On rare occasions it can be good wavesailing, but usually it's more bump and jump.
Often it's fairly gusty with headlands at either end that can disturb the air.
In ENE it's straight cross shore. Usually a NE wind is fairly smooth. Cross off waves in easterly can be very smooth, but the wind gets patchy. If the wind shifts to SE it's almost unsailable.
Westerlies are usually gusty but sailable. In 20 to 30 knot NW it can get up to half mast height backside wave riding. Around 20 knots NW it's usually about boom height.
Might see you out there, cheers Barry
