Looks good at Rosevears right now. If you've got a large sail. The wind is light, but enough to make white caps. I'll be rigging up as soon as I've finished my lunch!

Tide is just about high now, so gotta get out there before it's all mud again.

The wind was a little light on but had a few good runs. But yes, it was very cold. Had to pack it in when my toes got too numb - which didn't take long.

I reckon I'll try again tomorrow. If my wetsuit isn't still too cold and wet.

You need brass monkeys to get out at Rosey in that water temp!

We ended up with 25-30 knots and great waves. Small in close but some larger ones breaking over the rocks out the back.

Ah, I missed out. Not enough wind at Rosevears today so just mowed the lawn instead.

I haven't got any roof racks and sold the panel van a few years ago so I generally don't get to sail anywhere else. Good thing Rosevears is about as good as it gets (for my fairly low skill level and fear of big waves).

I went to Paper Beach. Probably 15 kt northerly but it was up and down. Not too bad on the long board. The colour of Tamar is not very inviting but I haven't sailed for 6 weeks so it was good to get going again

Im that hooked I pay someone else to mow the grass....

I need to set up a web cam or an internet savvy weather station I think, so that I can see when it's worth knocking off work early to go home for a sail. :-)

I've been planning on setting one up at Rosevears for a while.

My beta test is done and live on the net. If anyone is interested setting up their own, I can help you out.
All you need is a laptop/PC that is on all the time (a laptop is better because it uses less power), a permanent internet connection that you don't mind sharing a MB or two a week, a spare antenna mast- and I recommend somewhere with nice clean air/view of the prevailing wind, and of course a WeatherStation that is capable (~$100).
Then we can put it live on the net, accessible for everyone, with Live weather. I really should be selling this as a package :-)

Once we setup our favorite spots, so we can all have live conditions, instead of reading yesterdays newspaper...oh wait, BOM's half hour updates now isn't it?
