If the forecast stays crap, I vote to put it off til another weekend. Besides, the only reason I go up is for Perkys eggs and bacon breakfast on sunday and if he's not going to be there there's no point going.

It may pay to raise another approach to future racing events at the AGM.
As most people participating in the racing take the whole day or weekend out to attend the event, it may be possible to schedule dates in and then look at the conditions prior to the event and call the event to be run at a location that has wind forecast.
This would just mean that some people may have to travel further on the day, but at least we would get the racing run on that day and not have to wait around all weekend in one location and end up with nothing. More food for thought!!!
Also, would need people to step up into an organising role if the location was to change(Im happy to do it in the south)

If we delay this event I think we need to have it before the Stanley weekend. That way we can wrap up the season and have the prize giving at Stanley.

How about we shedule events with the provision to be able to change the date to any weekend within that month then that would give us three or four weekends to hold it. Verry rarely the wind doesn't blow for a month. In any case its quite rare for our events to be totally windless so it's not likely to happen very often.

Forecast isn't looking too good, so personally happy to give it a miss this weekend. We've already had one extra slalom event in down south, so we could miss this one and just wait for the last slalom even at Stanley?

The 'rolling weekend' and 'pick the best location' suggestion sounds OK for the slalom, but can probably leave Formula as it is (ie Hobart and Port Dalrymple). Perhaps we do lock in the Stanley weekend though (or some other venue) as the final racing event on the calendar (perhaps this last event could be Slalom or Formula, depending upon conditions)?

If we did this, we could have two slalom events that could be held on the rolling weekend, best location arrangement?

Then we'd have two slalom and two Formula events, prior to the final event of the season that could be run as either Formula or Slalom depending on the conditions (with emphasis on slalom if windy enough)?
