It seems a bit early for Tassi to get five days of easterly weather, it’s a pattern I associate more with January an February but we have had such a great run this spring with the westerlies I guess having to sail the opposite tack is a nice change though because it happens so rarely its quite challenging.
There are plenty of options for wavesailing in a NE wind down the far NW end of the coast but only Port Latta and Sisters Beach get cross-cross off and Sisters is very fickle ideally needing quite a big swell to produce reliable conditions.
Port Latta is a fun wave being more cross shore at the eastern end and quite cross on towards the western end.
On Friday the tide was low and on the way in. The swell seemed to be at its cleanest for the first hour delivering almost silky smooth faces for riding. As the tide came in the conditions became more typical of the north coast (choppy messy and unpredictable).
Jason and I probably had around 2 hours on the water so it was well worth the drive.
