Hi all,

Richard Carrington-Smith is the contact for this event, but has moved to Perth and won't be competing. If numbers are likely to be low, could we consider having this round of the state Formula Titles as part of the Bellerive Crown series down south over the weekend of the 25-26th Feb? Quite a few sailed this event last year and said it was great.

What do ya reckon ....

Or even better still lets dump Port Daylrimple permanently and make the Crown series part of the formula event every year.
I vote lets do it. Just about all the formula sailors are down south and it makes sense.

I,m considering racing in this as I,m a member with PDYC and there,s no keelboat racing for me that weekend, providing I can beg borrow or buy a suitable sail for my F2 lightning???

I'd better let BYC know that your considering competing this year and possibly on going.

Hi Darb, spoke with a few sailors down south on the weekend and the preference is to sail the Crown Series down south this year. It'll be a shame as we've sailed at the PYDC for the last 9 or 10 years I think and it has been great, but we just might not get the numbers this year and there is more chance of holding the series with a good number of sailors if we have it down south.

I'll let the PYDC know and perhaps Karen you can let the BYC know there is interest in holding our second round of the Formula State Titles as part of their series.

Hope this doesn't stop you from sailing at the PYDC that weekend Darb, maybe you can also make it down to the BYC for the Crown Series?

Hi Dave and everyone , this won't affect me as I will be on the poppy harvester but as the calendar of events was voted for at a meeting I think the correct way to do this is for the executive (whoever they are) to talk this through and their suggestions brought back to the members to vote on. The outcome may well be the same but I think its the right way to do this.

Have checked with many of the Formula Windsurfers in TAS who normally attend this event at PDYC and we are down 4 sailors, meaning we would most likely only attract a fleet of 3 or 4. There was however, fairly wide support for racing this round of the State Formula titles as part of the Bellerive Crown Series (with more sailors able to compete).

As a result, please note that we are officially changing Round Two of the State Formula Windsurfing titles from the PDYC on the 4-5th Feb to the BYC on 25-26th Feb.

For further information on this event, watch this space ...

PS Thanks for everyones input into this outside of this forum.

keep pushing guys. the formula scene is really kicking and the "Free Formula" division at the nationals is a huge hit. A guy from WA actually won it this year.

There was 100 competitors at the warm up event and 58 at the event proper.
it would be great to see some of the Tasi crew at next years event.
All the best...
