No ...

But I saw something in a Whitworths catalogue today (PLB?), but did not get a chance to look at it further ...

Planning to get the ACR ResQLink PLB today (74528N). Comes with bonus strobe rescue light, first aid kit and signal mirror. Should be able to stick it in a Pacqua.

Then need to sail out to the secret speed run out off Robbins Island!

I like the idea of UHF radios as well, not expensive for ones up to 10km.

That is a great old pic there Jez, although, I do have issues with the humane treatment of horses during war times.
I think that the UHF in the picture is about as useful to windsurfer as a gopro on flat water[}:)]

Got mine today at the Whitworths store out near Glenorchy ($399). Came with a first aid kit valued at $39 and an emergency strobe light valued at $129 (quite neat). Also comes with some kind of signal mirror, but they didn't have those in stock so will call me when they get them in.

The ACR PLB unit is smaller than I thought, just a bit bigger than a GT31. I got the non-buoyancy one, which is a little thinner. I figure if I drop it I'll lose it anyway, whether it floats or not!!

Now to put it to the test ...

They look the goods expensive but it would certainly give you the confidence to sail off shore

So Dave & Johnno we'll all have to hang around you when we're offshore sailing.
