Good forecast for both festivale Saturday and a recovery sailing session at Bell Buoy Sunday. Any takers? Lots planned this weekend with Al and slalom racing plus a stella forecast for wind and looping at BB.

Grevil predicted it! Four made it - Grevil, Greenie, Hugh (Jones - recent addition to the depleted northern wave-sailing contingent), and me.

Easily the best conditions that I have ever sailed at Bellbuoy on Sunday. We got a spell on the low tide with some truly EPIC ramps - perfect for all kinds of air.

Grevil is back with a vengeance, not holding back in his attempt to get his Forwards dialled in again. I am not saying that they were ALL a raging success, and we got some very amusing visuals from the beach - Grevil, silhouette against the smokey sky, upside down, star man...no board in sight...

I am not saying that it's not hard to forget something when you are getting those forwards tuned, but your entire rig?

I think that we all suffered from a long spell of stuff all sailing, and I am guessing that the others are feeling it just as much as me this morning. When can we have the GOING AWAY party for El Nino?

I was really channeling my inner Houston on those efforts. Just remember mind over matter I can do it - oh crap - my gear.

It is pretty motivating sailing with the likes of Clarky and Greeny. Watching Clarky working on and pulling massive backloops whilst almost planning out of them raises the bar to the next level.

I'm so eager - just got to get rid of this work crap!!

Hope you are right Geoff and the westerlies have returned.
Maybe next time I will have some more sailing subjects to photograph.

Lucky your 'old man' is so photogenic Gil...he is definitely the best looking rooster on the beach in your photographs.

It's a pity though that he didn't give you a chance to strut your stuff and be shot for posterity...if you know what I mean.

I turned up at Bell Buoy at around 3 only to find that the boys had headed home early for a nanna nap. At great personal risk I headed out into the raging ocean by myself cheered on from the land by my entourage (in Gills case the cheering was quite muted as corrective eye surgery was stopping her from venturing out into the ocean and catching her share of the waves).


Hey Buzzy where is all the Solo shot film that you would have recorded this summer.....there must be at least a thousand hours on your laptop....surely you could produce a Tom Hanks "cast away" style epic with that technology.....I can loan you a Wilson Volley ball if you need a prop for the soliloquies.

Sorry Al. Just don't have any footage that would be at the standard required for the Tasmanian forum. I'll take the Volleyball though. Is it ok if I call him Yorick?

I am not convinced you have even seen the movie or could do justice to the pivotal scene.....maybe you could post an audition tape..to convince me that it would be worth sacrificing the Volley Ball.....who is called "Wilson"....

I happen to think that a Nanna-Nap is quite justified after nearly 5 hours on the water, at optimum tide and perfect ramp conditions, and I have three collaborators who I am sure will agree - Hamish, Greenie, Hugh - all fine upstanding gentlemen of exemplary character.............................

If I am correct, your one and only witness must be considered unreliable given the family connections, and of course the fact that by your own admission, she was 'as blind as a bat'...or something to that effect...

You think photos are easy to fake? I suppose you think the moon landing was faked too.......maybe you upstanding gentlemen of exemplary character should lay off those soy chai lattes....

After two surgery attempts and a ban on sailing for a total of six weeks these new eyes have super powers!

Hope it all goes well Gill. Six weeks out during this time of year is like having a bad nightmare. Maybe you could ask Al if you can take Wilson along to the beach to keep you company. He could call out which sailor is about to do a move so you don't miss any action.
