I'm going to head up to Marion Bay on Thursday, starting from lunch-ish. Weatherman reckons it should a tad over 20 knots. It should be mid-tide at noon and rising. Temperatures in the mid twenties.

What more could you want?

Time to figure out a way to get out of work... (I'm starting work at 4am)

I'll try for Goats late arvo, if too much north I'll try Lauderdale front beach.

Marion lagoon should be the best tomorrow for flat water with a strong noreasterly

Drive down the Tasman Hwy towards Port Arthur, turn left at Copping on the Marion Bay rd, go up over the hill (guessing about 4 km), turn hard right when you hit the water, drive 1.7km from the corner to a little track next to the cemetery, should be few sailors going down. About 45 mins from Hobart

If you want somewhere closer to Hobart try Lauderdale front beach

Marion Bay is still looking good for wind from mid-morning onwards and the tide should alright after 1 (and rising for the rest of the day).

I hope to see some of you there!

The wind isn't playing its part either at the moment. Hoping it's just coming in a little later than forecast rather than being a complete fizzer.

The wind was pretty ordinary in the lagoon. I'm guessing it had a bit too much North in it (NNE at Maria island). When the wind was up it seemed to swing further to the East. Fun nonetheless but not really worth the effort (getting up super early to work and driving an hour each way).

Steady wind and sun!

I think all the hype killed it, unfortunately at this time of year you take what you get on the day.
