Hi All,

I'm looking for suggestions for a light wind board that could also be reasonable to teach the kids on in the river specifically off nutgrove.

I've got a old starboard stype 130 and I'm 100kg which was great in Melbourne with the strong sea breezes but not so good in the fluky Derwent.

If centreboard choice is from of the 4 big brands
so you want greater than 130 litres , do you want more of a freeride board with a soft sail?
Avoid buying secondhand hi-teck race sails and boards unless you know what you are doing.
( i have had two customers recently who purchased modern gps/ slalom gear locally secondhand and cant use it !, money wasted)

Perhaps 140-150 litres if you want to teach kids as well- modern freerides- Magic ride, Gecko etc

Starboard Go's have been my choice to find for guys in your situation Fletch.
A Go 150 would be ideal light wind for you, and perfectly stable for the kids.
The last 4 shipped into Tassie cost around $1000-$1200each delivered for people.

Perhaps more a question, but would one of those big windtech boards work?
