I haven't yet sailed here yet and would love to give it a go. I'm not overly experienced and would love to get some help from those more experienced than I. Is anyone planning on going up there anytime soon who may be prepared to give me some tips and such?

Hi Mmeyer If there is wind forecast from sw to nw there is usually someone there but keep an eye on this forum as well as we sometimes will post if we are sailing there but not always. Lagoon bay is quite a safe place to sail as long as you don't head out into the main river channels were there is a lot of current. Check out www.thespotguide.com.au for more info...Paul

If the wind is over 15knts N to WSW you can nearly be sure there is someone sailing Lagoon. My recomendation is sail either 1/3 to half tide out to sandbar and back or pick the WSW and sail fairly paralell to the beach if you are not confident to hit channel. If you want to hit channel pick an incoming tide for a bit of piece of mind as generally there is about a 3knt tide running.
Good Luck!

Mikey! Im out at low head most days so just give me a shout (Facebook is probably the best way to get my attention). what stage are you up to these days, are you tacking/jibing/planing/using a harness or foot straps yet? How accustomed to chop are you?

I can plane fairly easily but haven't yet got the hang of tacking and jibing and I haven't yet used the harness. Can't say I'm a fan of chop especially given my board is a slalom board but I can deal with it.
