Interesting read, Andrew and myself were the only kiters out, I thought we stayed clear, however I sometimes will hold my upwind heading if I feel we will pass safely, kite up to 12 o'clock, i was under the impression that this was ok.

I and all the other kiters respect all other water users, however I can fully understand the concern of everyone on the water with inexperienced users especially kiters !!

Best everyone respect the rules and other users, especially when room on the water is tight, and we should be prepared to speak up if required.

All this talk about sharing the water staying upwind etc. what we tend to do at snake river sailing club [srsc] is use the kite surfers for a bit of target practise with a couple of old cannons we had just lying around. They'll soon scatter upwind , about 10 km's.

Small world! My Uncle runs the local up at Snake River! I asked him bout your post and he said:
“ahh yes –Simon Spanker – the only windsurfer here... all talk that boy..last I saw he was being rescued out of a tree by some kiters. Got himself owned by the local PWC gang (yes they have Harley jetskies at Snake River). Poor bloke gets bullied a fair bit by the gang leader – she gets pretty nasty – best atomic wedgies this side of Devonport.”

In reply to Msackett, thankjs for your comments i and the committee at snake river sailing club value quality comments on the war between teabaggers and humans[sailboarders]. Still 1 point to make , stick to 1 syllable words so as not to exert yourself too much.
