Was in Strahan for work today, so took the opportunity to check out Henty. The run extends for just over 1km now. It's further away from the sand dunes, so the wind should pass over the run better, but the angle still needs quite a lot of west in the wind (predominant wind is NW). However, it does kick out toward the west a bit at the start and finish, so these areas could both be OK in a more NW wind.

The main run itself is really just like a Luderitz channel! Almost perfectly straight, with a smooth entry off the sandy beach and nothing too close to leeward to interrupt the flow. We just need a really good blow from the right direction!

The track in wasn't too bad either. I stopped and walked the last bit, but could have driven in. Video to follow, but photos for now ...

The following GPS track overlay on GE shows where we were sailing before (green) and where I walked along the eastern side of the 'new run' (blue), so the run is a bit further toward the beach than where the tracks are shown.

Looks pretty good ...

The main section, which does have a little westerly kick near the start that isn't shown from my tracks is just over 800m. Then there is another 300m+ that is at a really good angle for the more NW winds.

That is a fantastic video report Dave, thanks for taking the time to post it. Cant believe how far its moved out into the beach, no dunes behind to lift the wind Lets hope for some west type of wind real soon.

Yes, for sure, the last bit of the track looked really good, I was just worried about getting bogged in sand going up the last little ridge without anyone else there!

Yes please Steve, hedge trimmers would be good as you know how I like the Prado to be kept pristine
