Certainly not like sailing behind a sandbar!! Wind was swinging from W to SW, which made the angle regularly change, which in turn allowed it possible to bear off down existing chop lines. This was the key to getting some speed up. Below photo was taken after we'd all come in. Wind had dropped off from what it was, but gives some idea as to where I was sailing (in the shallower area) and what the conditions were like.
I tell you what, the biggest issue was making sure I knew where those two steel posts were. Whenever I couldn't see them I was a little anxious!!
