Hi

The first ever sailboard fishing gathering is on and you have the chance to part of history!!!!!

Just want to confirm who is keen for the event this Saturday 12:30pm Cremorne Lagoon (Pond). Bring your board and rig and let’s see what we catch.

Ok, looks like i'm in. I'll should be able to bring the barby (its at a friends house but can hopefully repo it). I might throw in some snags as well as I'm sure everyones' massive catches (specially houstons') won't fit on the modes size plate.

btw - here are a couple of last minute rig ideas.

I like this one for its brutal simplicity. Might have to manage a good "clench" if you want to play a big one. I'm sure Anthony will be all over this one.

A little more conventional:-

Tasflyer, I like that one but if you shove it in further you don't have to clench.
A nice big flatty would be better than a snag, see you there

Fishing in the pond, I think the only thing we'll catch is a stingray and they're a bit leathery. I think I'll be there, have to pinch dads fishing gear, i don't think the ones at home have hooks and sinkers on them.

Might make it, maybe mid arvo. Looks like not much wind, yaks might be the go.
Looks a bit more hopeful (for wind) on sunday.

Hate to brag, not like me at all, usually pretty humble sort of a guy, but it's worth discreetly mentioning Morgan Wallace, son of Wally Wallace and I teamed up and caught the biggest and only fish of the day and took out the inargrul Cremorne Fishing Classic.
That's two records in one season, the other being the GPS speed sailing record in the lagoon at an impressive speed of 23.99999999999 knots

Here are some pictures

Shame we did not get any of the crew who braved the cold.

A big thankyou and many thanks to Marlin for the BBQ which was very welcome.

Fishing in winter is hard normally, so we had a good turnout of participants considering the cold Hobart max yesterday was 11 degrees and a bit of a laugh all round.

I have to concede that Morgan Wallace is the winner! Well done!!!!
Anthony Huston did play some small part in it, but I think we can say rather that racking up yet another prestigious award, we will just name him King of the pond 2010 and I think we can all agree just like Robby Naish his legend status is growing and should be sponsored by Red Bull or similar for his ability to maintain his “WINNER” status across all sporting pursuits.
Thanks again to all participants Marlin, Ken, Damian, Morgan, Anthony and Anthony
Let get more out on the water next year.
Kind Regards Russ

If you're wondering what Damo has up his nose and ear, that's where he stores the bait, doesn't like putting it in his pocket, reckons it stinks
