Don't know about speed seekers Russ I came in over the line last last year so I guess I should be able to beat that.........I'll be there

Thanks Easty. At least there will be some wind. The Sandy Bay Regatta Association have agreed to putting in $400 which is fantastic. If we get 15 entries that will be $550 up for grabs. $50 of that money will go into a lucky door prize. You need to be at the presentation and have entered the race to be eligible for that.
Wish I could be there, sounds like it might be a good day for long boards.
Have fun everyone, and I'll do the Aussie Day thing and have a few crappy PNG beers while listening to Cold Chisel, and throw another yam on the bbq.
I think it's the Naish 135 and 8.8 for me
please blow, I know Dave will have that big formula and it would be so nice to see it stay in his trailor![]()

Just got home from a 5km dog walk straight after the Dash. Awesome event with about an 8-10 S/SE Sea breeze. Very light wind but lucky to get any because there was no wind until about 30 mins before the start. The formula boards dominated but everyone on non formula gear did so well to finish in that light breeze. Well done Dave who won the event yet again. It was a fairly close race with Will, Brendon and Dave all neck and neck to the mark. Brendon got around first with Dave Hot on his heals and Will close behind. Dave over took Bruno with about 1km or less to go.
First 5 placings Dave, Bruno, Will, Bear and Fitzy all on formula gear.
Big thanks again to the Sandy Bay Regatta Association for the $400 prize money and heaps of pies and beers afterwards. Also we had 17 entries which is 2 more than last year in a crappy forecast which is brilliant. Well done everyone![]()

Not to mention Kazza was in the lead pack until the last sprint home.
I finished and not even last, but I used a sup board with a 7.5 sail.
I was leading a pack until 100 m from the eastern shorebouy when behind me got a gust and planed past me to the bouy, I managed to catch Jez up again as he dogged back to the western shore, and nearly got another.
Very light, Bear who finished in the money was behind me 1/2 way across to the eastern shore, then he got a gust on the door board and that was the last I saw of him.
