As much as I am soooo keen to have you all down to this part of the planet (Cloudy)to see you all in action on a good breeze, all of the apprehensions about the ferry and camping spots are bang on. There has been however, a second ferry put on which will remove some of the angst of the ferry waiting time and slightly speed up the process. Please don't blame the ferry workers for the waiting times, I know for a fact they really do give it their best to get as many vehicles (caravans, Winnebago's, trailers, Wicked campers etc) on each trip as they can. Bruny is a magnet for tourism at the best of times and the easter period is no exception, so our population swells from 650 or so to approx 5 to 6000. Hence all available accommodation, shack, camping ground, friends back yard, street corner etc, is taken up.
The good news is that all of us very lucky Tasmanian residents can have it at any other 'non tourist time?' of the year. Had I known that there was going to be a contingent of sailors coming down I would have grabbed the bobcat and created some flat ground for you all. ( I need some more firewood anyway )
For the record Ant and Damo, seems like I've been kneecapped again at seeing how you all do what I struggle to achieve every time I go solo sailing down here.
Alas my Jem Hall disc shall get another canning when I head back to the deep blue.
Hope the easter bunny brings you all wind and waves like the previous couple of weeks has provided, no matter where you choose to sail.
Cheers.
