Get your entries in for the Bellerive Crown Series. Should be a great event, with moderate northerly winds forecast and 28/30 degree temperatures.

You can enter online ($25) - http://crown.belleriveyachtclub.com.au/

This event will be the second round of Formula Racing as part of the Tasmanian State titles and this year replaces the Port Dalrymple Blockbuster Weekend event.

Cheers

Ant, registration is between 8-10am on the saturday for the off-the-beach classes, which inlcudes sailboards, so you should be able to enter then and pay an extra $5 (on top of the $25). On-line entry is very easy, and probably the best way to go. Info from the website:

ENTRY CLOSING DATE
Entries close Monday 20th February 2012 and should be accompanied by full entry fees. The Race Committee may accept late entries however a late entry fee of $5 per crew for keelboats and $5 per boat for Off The Beach Classes will apply. Entries may be made in person, by mail, facsimile or online as below Telephone entries are not accepted. Bellerive Yacht Club, 64 Cambridge Road, Bellerive or PO Box 26, Rosny Park 7018. While the weather is looking pretty good for general sailing on the weekend (finally), it should be awesome for the racing. The Derwent River should get fairly consistent NNE winds and it is generally quite flat from this direction, which is great for upwind downwind racing.

This event is definitely open to all sailboards, not just the Formula boards, and should be a lot of fun. With a bit of wind and flat water, a fast slalom board might be quite competitive!

How did the race go on the river, I was over looking it from Battery Point looked like it got to around 25-30knots in the middle, flattened a few boats, a bit of a spectical

Ant, another day of crazy racing with 5-25 knots, maybe even 30 knots like you said. Really hard work, we had 3 races and the last race wasnt started because it was too windy.

Well done Steve for winning every Formula race. You definitely deserve the wins, sailing well in the light stuff and the strong.

I am amazed at your new gear and how well it went in the lighter stuff. I have never seen a Formula board go so well in such light winds. There were times I did not even think about trying to get going, because there just wasn't enough wind, and you were fully planing back and fourth going upwind, basically lapping the fleet in the light stuff. Well done!!

Had a blast on the river off Nutgrove yesterday arvo, must have been 30knots.
Only one other sailboarder and one kite.

Thanks guys, the new Starboard 16W is definately a beast. Seems to get up and go in hardly any wind, pretty amazing. Also the Reflex 3 sails are planning through the lulls really well. The 10.7 would plane through a lull and into the next gust. Also just had a new Z formula fin arrive before the comp and is working super well in the board.
