I sailed Bell Buoy yesterday evening in an easterly. The swell was OK by current standards ( we don't seem to get the regular NW swell anymore) , the easterly swell seems to be more organised than the westerly swell and I got a couple of longer rides. The last time I sailed an easterly swell the wind direction was E to ESE so cross offshore, yesterday it was ENE which was not as good. I missed the peak of the wind as well, BOM was saying 19 to 23 Knots but it seemed a little lighter though enough to get the 79 quad 5.7 combo planning at times. In the middle of the day it was 25 to 27 Knots according to BOM. It would be interesting to sail the eastern end of Greens with this sort of wind and swell but it may be to protected by Hebe reef.

I should have used a Go Pro and made a ninety minute video of my session....realistically it would probably been better conditions for SUP.
