What sort of lens have you got Relic ?
i find anything less than 400mm struggles for detail.
Keen to see what you shot today !

No complaints so far Al...nothing to compensate for. We'll level it to Porsche owners!
Goon Dog it's a mate's 400 f 2,8 L serious pice of glass. A pity the weather didn't deliver in daylight.
another time.
I'll have another go at uploading tomorrow. I'm ok at shooting the pics but not so good at the computerised bits after the event. I'm an Analogue Man.....remember film?

Even with reduced file size the SB site is painfully slow to upload. I haven't got the patience for it.
I have a few shots of Sail Latte , Wind Cranker , SB Tas and Arturs
PM if you want me to e-mail them to you.
Any hints on uploading to Seabreeze gratefully accepted.

Relic, I run my DSLR shots through a program called 'JPEGmini' before I upload, it reduces files from 7mb to 1-2mb without too much of a quality reduction. Alternatively you could upload them to a photo sharing site such as 'photobucket' and then post the URL of your library on here

Or if you've got Photoshop, resave the photo's into a smaller jpeg file the load them.

Relic a very quick program is PIXresizer. does it in seconds and and you can upload and convert multiple files at once.
It is a free download..
resize and save to about 1000pix on widest side and it uploads to seabreeze without timing out.d every
same if you are uploading to gumtree, seabreeze adds etc.

Thanks Al. Size does matter in this case! The big 400mm is a beast. So sharp and bright. To buy one would cost many times the value of my windsurfing gear! Lucky my mate has it lying around!

Great shots mate!
For the screen Relic, it would be good if you can try you reduce the pictures you upload are at least 1024x768, but 1280x1024 would be ideal. That will be full screen enough on most PC's, without blowing the image size out too big. There is very little quality loss to the eye on a screen - just the size on the screen.

If you going to take such awesome quality photo's I reckon you need to start a Flickr.com account, and upload the full quality versions though!! Then you can just post the link - saves double/triple handling them too.

Thanks Johnny, I shoot L RAW to capture the maximum possible detail, dynamic range etc. Once processed they are exported, compressed and formatted to suit end use.
I'm an infrequent contributor to social media and uploading files to it. The method I used successfully before didn't work....more compression needed.
The intent was never to upload high quality files. They stay in my RAID drive storage.
Thanks for the info though.
