I'm going tomorrow but it is probably a little too far for you to drive up here. Been having some good sails recently. The bad news is that it hasn't been too regular. The good news is that I've managed to get fishing a few times in the kayak. Last trip out I caught enough for two feeds in about an hour and had to come in.

Iceman yer its a fair way to travel, but when summer comes around and with a decent wind forecast for the weekend, ill def make the trip up for a sail with you and even stay up there for the weekend.

I'm pretty keen to go to Mortimer Bay early on Sunday - should be quite windy from the SSW.

Rob and I are heading to the inside of Marion Bay Saturday mid morning - rig at the old cemetery. Hopefully enough water - low tide around 9.00am.

You might be right - looking at BoM observations Maria Is is the only place with wind.

Looks like the wind has gone walkabout for today, looks like its a good day to build up some points Tomorrow sounds good at Mortimer's, but going to be wet and boggy i reckon, hard to get in with a non 4wd car.

I was thinking more like 8AM on the water.

Don't forget your GPS Russ. Anthony, this could be the day you break the 30 knot barrier!!

correction, just went down the front beach lauderdale, a lot of west in the south. Mort. would be perfect, clifton a bit blocked out unless middle clifton.

If its waves you want SouthGoats (Rebounds) Could be worth a look. Great fun in this direction. You can also sail out to Blackjack, Betsy and keep working up wind into Wedge and further to Sandpits.

High wind and heaps of fun tuning the 5.8 ka Koncept sail, Dave cracked 34. somthing knots on a very nice speed board and new 5.6 race sail. My peak was 29.6 Knots on the naish wave 90 I will not rest till I crack 30 on that board; I love sailing it at the limit (my limit anyway). Huston came late and seemed to be giving it a real go today. so it will be interesting when he posted his top speed

Thanks Dave for the go on your isonic 94 that is one fast board and Dave has it for sale as well so if you are interested in a go fast board give him a call. It would be a shame to see that board leave the state as it feel the perfect size for Tassie condtions.

The drive in was almost as much fun as the sail the road needs work bigtime!!!!

Happy Fathers Day to all the dad's

I had a fantastic time

Cheers Russ

Well by the time the Fathersday obligations finished it was 12 and just as I was nearly at Mortimers Dave was leaving, and Houston was the only one still on the water.

I spent about 1/2 hour thinking about the cold and the dropped wind, rigged the 7.5, then houston came in and I packed up :(

Oh well maybe next time

Hey Russ is that the gear your selling from under the house on your avatar ?

Great to see so many people getting out today and having a good sail. I'm sure you'll get there very soon Russ, I’m still trying to break the 20 barrier.

I was in the same boat as FoS, got down late to Doren's, their was someone out when I got there but not sure who. Wind was light and gusty by that time and decided it wasn't worth it.

Cruised around to Mortimers to see what was going on but their was only a few kiters out.

Hopefully a sail this week, two weeks without one feels like forever, maybe my g.f is right i'm getting addicted to this sport haha

Russ you better watch your arse, i clocked 27.6k which is my pb, nothing to to brag about but inching forward a knot each time i go out which means I'll be 60 by the time i reach 30k.
Picked up my new turbo charged Fanatic 110L today off Damo, he guaranteed I could hit 40k on this one, I believe him cos he's an honest bastard

That was me out at Dorans. Got a couple of hours in all up pretty well powered on a 5.3. It was a bit southerly for Dorans but it was good fun over once you got out to the windline. I stayed over by he Police Accademy mostly where the wind was clean and some chop jumps to be had. I know Mortimer would have been better but I was pretty sure I'd have bogged the Falcon trying to get into the launch spot ! Anyway, very happy just to get out on the water after quite a few weeks. I met a new guy from Qld called Rob who has just moved down here for work for a while. Needless to say he was prey horrified by the temperatures and couldn't get sufficiently psyched to go out. I assured him it gets better from here on in and told him about this forum.

Spring/summer - bring it on !

I had full intentions of breaking the law I mean sailing at Moulting Lagoon today but when I arrived the track looked just too boggy for the Hi Ace so I kept going down to Swanick. It looked good for a bit of speed at the mouth behind the bar with a few hundred metres of dead flat then chop then flat again and gybe in the waves but by the time I rigged the tide had all but covered the fast looking bits, happy to just scrape in for 30 kts. Awsome NM today Dave and well done Stewy for 2 pbs and well done to all the other crew getting faster and faster

East Beach was pretty low key on Sunday, not the 25 to 35 forecast. Probably a little under done on a 5.3 and a 74 l board, regardless it was fun if a little chilly.

Good luck Jez. I think he's had a lesson from everyone.
