What conference are you stuck at? At least there should be some free booze and food?

I think you might have to do a wind dance for the weekend.... Not looking good.

Geez Ant you just don't know how sorry I am for you.
By the way, forecast for today is for 20-30 northerlies up this way, may go down for an hour or so for a quick sail before tennis.
How's the conference by the way, enjoying yourself????[}:)]

After having a yarn with FoS I stuck around till 12:30, but not a breath. Droughty Hill is only recording a couple more knots now, so it doesn't sound good to me :-(

Fos you're obviously not a religious person, Hughy is the brother of the father of Jesus, if you knew the bible the father of Jesus looks after the poor people and tries his best but to no avail to keep world peace, whereas hughy is the older more dominant god that looks after the wind, so is you want good wind make sure you pray to the right god
God bless and good night

A bit of a contentious issue. As Jesus was a surfer, spending many a lonely hour sitting atop a mountain watching, waiting for some decent waves. He inevitably experienced many an enlightening moment and often begged uncle Huey to take him to some decent breaks.

Huey is the 'GOD OF SURF'. Now many sailors with both big boats and little stand up boats, at times find themselves praying to Huey for wind. This is great; however, you may have noticed that this does not work properly.

Huey does his best, but as the god of surf, he is limited in his ability to assist promptly on the day. Huey works in collaboration with other gods and needs time to put together a proposal to the Wind Gods for them to assist in creating the waves for Huey to deliver to us. This takes time and waves take time to build and travel from the 'source'. There is no point sitting in the water yelling at Huey to bring some decent surf, things take time even for gods.
As far as yelling at Huey for wind, you are wasting your time, he's interested in waves, wind is someone elses department. Go pray to a wind god!
However, it has been documented(Barry et al, 1997)that wavesailors have a 700% chance of getting a decent response when going through Huey for wind. Barry et al found that wavesailors are identified by Huey as a higher life force and more in tune to both the physical and spiritual universe.

Some whitecaps at Taroona.... Contemplating an early finish for the day -- does anyone have a view of the other side of the river?

Got out at Mortimers, took out the slalom gear with a 6.4m did a few end over ends in the chop and completely overpowered at the end but great fun, noticed a few out at Dorans on the way home
Looks like Klaas has joined the GPS with 5 pb's, well done, where did you get out?
Anyone get out at Clifton?

I went for a bit of a play at Dorans. Rigged big (7.6) because there was no wind. Then the wind picked up quite a bit but I didn't have the time to get back to the car and rerig, so I did the best I could but had to wait out gusts.

Incidentally did my first full water start (including clearing the big cammed sail). I also accidentally got in the footstraps for the first time ever :-). Both accomplishments were quite flukey really, I think it will take a while to repeat them.

Now no wind for a week?!?!? Dang.

Xarvia, that's a bloody good effort water starting with a 7.6 cam sail, huge difference on a small none cam sail you'll pick it up quickly if you do.
If you have trouble get someone to help. I remeber trying to learn, all I did was drink water until someone jumped in and showed me then I got it

Now I'm wasting time on the net looking for wind that probably won't come in
