OK, lots of GPS action lately. first, we have Jason Smith in the Tamar. Not sure if this was at North West Bank, but I've put it under that, so correct me if I'm wrong. Well done Jason, so close to 40 knots for the Tamar! Me at Moulting Lagoon, plus Perks with a 2nd place there and I've also updated Steve's Spot PB information for north of the bridge in the Derwent River, well done Steve.

If anyone has some 2nd or 3rd placed top speeds for various locations let us know and I'll add them. I've added them for Doran's, but maybe someone has improved on these, so if you have, let me know.

Also another huge congratulations to Kaleb Smith who pushed the boundaries and sailed over 450km last month at Mortimer Bay, pushing the Tassie Speed Seekers into number one position for the year to date and allowing us to take out the Summer Cup in what must have been one of the hardest contested months to date, with huge numbers coming out from teams across Australia.

Dave, the spot is in the middle of the river opposite Kelso. Northwest bank is 2km north so not the same spot.

Dave I reckon you should just throw Jason and I under the heading of 'Low Head'....that's where we both launched from. NW Bank is a little (too) specific

Looking good there guys. Dave do all the second and third spots have to be over 35 knots as well.

Good question Steve, I was wondering about that. You would think until it hit 35 it cant be counted as spot record, so probably shouldn't register in the ranking until 35. Just my opinion.

Yeah I agree Buzzy, it gives people something to aim for. I am surprised the 3rd highest speed at Mortimer is only 35 knots. I went back through all my posts today from when I first started with the GPS comp. That was good fun looking at all the old gear and other peoples posts. I could only find Pittwater west 37.5 knots on the 20/2/2014 and Pittwater East (Chicken Run) 37.37 12/10/2013. Dave if you can up date those that would be great thanks.

Ok then i would like to request the number 2 spot at East Inlet.
2 sec 45.69 the same day that Perks got the number 1 spot

Yep I agree 35+ sounds good,maybe a spot record for the rest of the world, top three speeds where ever. Just in case one of us Tasmanians goes to Luderitz

Have just updated with the following new Spot PB's:
- Steve Charles doing 38.208 at Pittwater East today
- Cookie doing 45.69 at East Inlet earlier last year
- Steve Charles doing 37.57 at Pittwater West earlier last year
- Me doing 40.39 and Perks doing 38.94 at Montagu back in 2011
Plenty of 2nd and 3rd spots still to be filled for those that have the data ...
