Hi I have 3 weeks in Tassie and wondering if there is any suggestions for flat water sailing areas. Have a van and will be looking for camping areas nearby.
Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
Nearly forgot but will be bringing our dog with us as well.

In the north of the state we have Port Sorell 20min from spirit. Great speed venue and great sailing in many wind angles. Stanley 1 and a half hours from Port Sorell heading west. Many many speed runs best direction easterly wind but can be sailed on other directions. Henty River very good speed run on the west coast but need a 4wd to get in and sail it. Lagoon bay in Launseston 1hour from port sorell. There are many other spot around tas and i have mentioned the main ones on the north. Some one from the south will mention their main areas. HOPE YOU BRING THE WIND WITH YOU!! Or otherwise you will be on a island surrounded by a millpond.

Camp ground at seven mile beach. 5 minutes from most southern sailing areas. Dont know about dogs there, but the state needs the cash though!

The cabin/camping park near the Hobart Airport is dog friendly and is in close proximity to the sailing spots mentioned for Sthn Tassie.

Thanks all for the info. Will be taking the advise. Hoping the dog will not be too much of a negative.
Have heard times are tough down there at the moment.
