This is the problem, waiting for competition days to get membership numbers up.
About 10-15 years ago the only members of WT were those doing the state slalom /racing scene and a few who entered a wave event.
There does not appear to be as much enthusiasm about WT contests as back then.
With the gps challenge a lot of people are not joining WT now as they can have there own contest without membership.
Most sailors in Tassie are recreational and feel they get nothing out of the membership, fair enough .
Wave sailing events and slalom events just are not happening, so there is no Membership coming through.
The big pull for WT really has been the Huge success of learners having to join WT to hire the gear.. Sad fact, but if it were not for the learner boards i think the numbers would be very low even though we have quite a lot of regular sailors in Tasmania.
So all windsurfers in tas take, advantage if the clubs learner boards.
If you want to.teach family or friends, pay your social membership and $50 per week to access modern Starboard learner boards with matching user friendly rigs. WT also has kids rigs that you can hire.
