Hi all
am after some help , i have been sailing for 2 years and have used the same sail .it is a severn convert i have 3 a 5.4 ,6.0 ,6.7 but what i find is that they dont have a good wind range and i seam to strugle when every one is going . so im going to by a difrent sail to see how that is . and am looking for advice on a good sail in the 5.4 to 6.5 range that has agood wind range and loads of power .

I am 86 kgs and have a 122 jp excite ride and a 92 jp freeride for the windy days . i use the 122 most the time as i find it good for skills and takes most conditions .

Where are you sailing? Are you after a flat water blasting sail with lots of low end or something more bump and jump?

have you had a read of the rigging guide for the convert ?

If you go down the path of different sails are you cashed up for new stuff or going 2nd hand ?
Then decide on wave sail / speed sail / free ride sail.
Other issues could be harness line placement ?
or Technique, get some pointers off someone who can watch you sail.

i do like flat water but spend most my time at sems or seaclife so u could say bump and jump but need a bit of allrounder

thanks for the link had a look to see if i was rigging right and seams good . am looking second hand and more of a allround free ride sail . have had a few other sailers try riging them too but didnt change much allso had some pointers on my technique!! but in all think it would good to try a difrent sail type . Im not blaming the sail and im sure my technique is not spot on just think it is time to try something diffrent .

I have just started using the Simmer Style Apex it is a very powerful crossover sail so perfect for Sems. I like it because I am a big guy but the sail has loads of low end to get you going but once going it is such a smooth and comfortable sail to use. Here is what Simmer say about it:

The Apex is our cross-over power house wave sail. It is designed for high top-end speed, power and control. This is a sail which makes the most out of average type conditions. It´s based on its predecessors panel layout but modernized with a more compact outline, a wider sleeve for great drive and Q-Ply top panelling for light handling. The Apex low aspect ratio and five batten outline makes this our most stable wave sail, with a massive wind range and great control for high wind jumping.

thaks for the info do you have any demos in your shop that i might try at boggy when wind is up ?

I have a 6.2m demo and 5.7m you can try at boggy.

that would be grate just need some wind now lol

Are you using the right mast for the sails?
