Hi guys. Quick update. Our container left on Friday packed with our lives and including all my windsurf kit. We will be arriving in Adelaide on the 26th August. The container won't be there until end September so I was wandering what the wind is like then as I'll be straight down to water once it arrives. Was going to head for Semaphore first. Also do you use Windguru for wind forecasts or is there local buoy or weather station that transmits real time conditions?

Mxmanus, if you're sailing Sems, make sureyou have some wave/weed fins. The start of the season won't be weedy, but after January you'll probably need them if the past 3 years is anything to go by. Will see you there no doubt. If you have bad knees, then wait until about 4pm when the tide is high enough. The higher the tide the smoother the water at Sems and that's when the wind is the strongest/most consistent and will stay like that until sunset.

Thanks for info jn1. We are looking at pooraka. Enfield area. To live that's why I looked at sems. But the other spots aren't too far away are they? Lol. To be honest I will be happy to travel to the best spots based on the wind and where everyone is . I've sent over all my kit but don't have a weed fin. Are they expensive there? I can get a good 2nd hand one here for about $80.

Wow, that's almost half price. If I was you, I would worry about it when you get here and after a few sessions and talking to people, you'll know what to get. You have plenty of time. Seabreezes won't kick in until October anyway and before xmas, weed isn't a problem.
