I' m hoping someone might know what sort of fin this is. I've found a photo and description of it on the internet that says it's a free ride. Can't find any other photos with descriptions that say it's any thing else or that MFC made different types of fins with the same paint job / art work and colour? Need to know as i' m selling it with a board.

I have a few of these, they are Kevin Pritchard inspired Maui Fin Company Nylon Fins, good for single fin wave and freestyle wave boards.
Great fins,

I guess they are freewave, go with that

MFC and Kevin Pritchard, former wave world champion, developed this new fin concept also in G-10 construction. The straight outline allows for very early planning and radical upwind ability, but the fin is incredibly maneuvrable due to its narrow outline and cord. The profile is the fastest, generated by our KPR model and adapted to this wave model. Ideal for all around wave conditions can be use also for freewave conditions.

Ideal for wave/freewave conditions.

Hi Sam

These fins were marketed as an onshore wave fin designed to going up wind. I brought a 27cm and 25cm in 2011 from windshack.com in Perth. These fins were very hard to get upwind and get planing. A year later I gave them away to Joe Belluzo (25cm fin) and Mark Zaza (27cm fin). They both said the fins were crap too and I think they ended up giving them away as well. I currently own a 27cm Fanatic wave fin, which I'm told is a rebadged MFC fin. This fin looked identical to the windshack fin I brought, but it's awesome. Manufacturing defect ?. Who knows.

Thanks j. Unlucky if it was (defect). Nearly sea breeze time again. The years are going faster.

I found that as well Jay, I have the same fin but in the carbon (or Kevlar) construction / the black one
This one is much stiffer and better for up wind sailing and early planing
