Hello,

I was wondering how accurate the Sellicks hill reading is for acutal wind on water? Anything to watch out for out there? Apart from big Noahs of course.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers,

Carl

From my few years of sailing ther (during summer) my only comment would be - no one can tell.

In a true gully wind it can be 20 knts at the top and 25+ on the water

Sometimes it can be 30 knts at the top and glassy at the beach and white caps down by the cliffs

Sometimes it can be the same top and bottom.

The only way you can be sure is to drive down there and either be dissappointed, have a gusty mother of a sail (not unusual in 30+ knts to be stuck in big patches of absolute glass with no wind) or sometimes get blown off the water.

Its my favourite beach during summer but man its impossible to truely work the place out - even the crew that have been sailing there for 20+ years get frustrated at the place.
