LOL man !!!! pretty lame, I think as a water sport it is probably the safest one !!!! How many windsurfers have been done by sharks !!!! like 1 !!! in like 30 years ( and he lost his gear on that one ) !!

That was a fantastic sesh at the wall today. I forgot what it was like to sail in real wind. I didn't get there early enough , and I forgot to give the sail heaps of down haul . Can't wait to get my new board

A liner (5-6 storey jobbie) departed from the port today. It effected the wind so much that the teabags fell out of the sky.. one by one.. :). The liner was an awesome sight. Wish I had a camera.

No windsurfer got taken by a shark at aldinga ! Yes it was at Yorke 's ,from what I heard a windsurfer went out in a Big Stormy by himself !! he lost his gear could of ever drowned first. So really, us windsurfers have a zero fatal rate.

Better be on it early tomorrow as "the stringed ones" are going to take over three poles tomorrow from 0800.

Might have to be at U's by sunrise just to make sure you get a park!!!!!

Had a good blast on 4.2 for about 2 1/2 hours had to sail U turns - seaford looked better in the morning - A couple of the boys headed down the beach to find some decent waves and I think crossed paths with a few kities. Watched for a while and it was sad to see so many good waves going unridden (as I was heading home) and so few kites on the water. Must have been too strong or something

great sail. exept for the the part where i said last run before i go in cause it was too windy... overpowered bottom turn. wipedout me board went -> way and my knee and ankle went <- way! massive pain, foot got stuck in the strap as i was getting washed. got washed in, sucked. thanks to all the guys who helped. Dzub marty and russ! cheers, owe u's a beer! now a week 0n cruthes with pulled ligament on the knee and ankle. 2 weeks off work!!!! bummer! i will have some spare time now!!

We were all thinking of you today, 4 foot rollers at lowers! 25-33 knots all day, you would have been going off here today!

HEy rush, i watched a bit of the kite titles as iam out with torn shoulder muscle and the best waveriding going on was TIMMY sailboarding amongst the kiters at seaford,more turns than all the kiterss put together maybe 20knts plus doesnt suit them,was a bit disappointing to watch.
Triggs had some good waves and about 12 sailboarders out ,took some pics but their film so no hey presto.

Yeah, some TOSSER got in the way of the State Wave Titles Open Mens Heat. Lucky he wasn't taken out. Conditions were sick. Next time you guys hold your States we might gate crash.

Timmy won the state kite boarding open mens world championship on a windsurfer it was great to see and he made it on TV too, I think it was mainly because he was the only one staying on his board and not getting flung around like a rag doll haha

with an attitude like that next time its on the other twenty that were out might just head down to where the waves were lining up the best on the coast.

Remember we only get a few days like this each winter and everyone gets pissed off when they can't sail where they want to - and basically we don't give a rats arse about the state final of kitesurfing - but 99% stayed out of the zone - There is a lot of crew that have windsurfed this coast for a long time and don't like getting told by someone where they can and can't sail - live with it.

so if you don't want interference consider holding it a south port or somewhere where it doesn't affect the rest of the wind sport enthusiasts.

i rekon he shoulda just stayed clear! its only one day. let them run there comp!!! was annoying seeing all these nice waves rolling threw seaford tho. u turns was a bit of drab!

Its understandable they were upset about sailers in the comp zone, the May expression session would of been crap if there were an additional 30 kiters contending for every small lump.

I certainly appreciated the kiters steering clear of our comp zone so felt it only fair to return the respect.

Hope your knee heals up soon hail, remember I've offered to keep your gear wet while your knee repairs itself.

I think your missing the point airrush--our comments are "observations" on what took place sat,Timmy got the cup,-----make sure you spell his name right.
And its posted in a windsurfing forum,we never wonder if kiting is better otherwise we would be posting in the kiting forum!!!!
In all truthfullness 80% of your competitors would not of handled those winds with waveriding,10-15knots would have been good for you---you should have waited?

your opinion Gunna and you are welcome to it... I personally think conditions were the best we could have hoped for, 20knots plus is prime wave riding conditions....

Saying Timmy got the cup- once again no need to be derogatory or inflammatory, the competitors and organisers all put in a large effort and comments like that are un-necessary- the standard of riding was highly skilled and entertaining.

Timmy caused the good efforts and goodwill of every other windsurfer who showed some respect to turn into this slanging match. Hopefully we can put all of this behind us and get on with our lives- I don't have the energy to hate and I don't think it does anyone any good in the long run.

YOU REALLY SHOULD LIGHTEN UP GEOFF,this is light hearted banter in the windsurfing forum,if i wanted to to be derogatory to kiters i would post in kite forum,i didnt.
I think the word "hate" is a bit strong--where did that come from--lighten up

As a whole i think the windsurfing crew did the right thing in stayin out of the way and for those people we thank you, we really do appreciate that. For those people slagging kiting and the competition held on sat i think you guys need to stand back and have a good look at yourselves, a real good look. We all use the waterways and it would be so much easier if we could just show a bit of mutual respect. Just my two cents.

If crew didn't slag each other about their choice of kiting and windsurfing then these forums would be even more dull colorless and boring than they already are. And people shouldn't take it all too seriously

I don't slag off windsurfing as I used to windsurf to a high level (PWA Standard). I was just making the point that we stayed away from your event and the majority of you did for the SAKSA event, for that I thank you. However, it was just 2 windsurfers that had no respect. Its not like there are events every weekend. It was one day!

Maybe you should simply ring the two guys that sailed through the comp zone instead of coming onto the SA WINDSURFING area and slagging off! You must have known it would degenerate into a Us vs Youse debate.....
