got nene channel this arvo till near dark, where you sailed maris last summer.
dunno knots but nearly too strong in the gusts with my 4.2m up and half mast sets
maybe pebbles friday night with a ESE gale?
checked it today and it was too onshore

Nene sounds great but unfortunately it's a little to far for a day trip

the whole concept of day trips as far as 5 hours away spin me out a bit.
went to robe fairly often when living up state but there was always at least one sleep involved.
no questioning your dedication
maybe i should do day trips to torquay?

Didnt bother day tripping Robe Thurs or Friday as didnt think the SE slop would do anything in the bay.

Clearly should have come down Nene way. Those coastal reports around Nene were off the richter scale.

Pilly - was it cross-off down the line Thurs?

no it was more dead cross shore down the line but some how super smooth on the waveface and over the reef in a 30knotter. insane chop out the back.
friday was a touch off shore

Thanks Pilly - at least I know for next time.

Could have easily done the day trip or 2 -day trip and from the coastal reports could have sailed it even in the morning!

Why sit in a car for 3.5hrs when you have some of the best waves going around in your back door 25mins away?????

i agree with this statement paul and the start of march has dished up a bit early and now the swell doesnt want to coinside with the seabreeze.
ive missed a few days so next summer if its on, im going.
mid style 2' nene tonight, cross off at the whale bone grumpy so no good for you 15-25k
the direction was fantastic for pebbles but lacked enough swell to be consistant first time ive seen 25k and cross off there and it looked like it could get all- time with some swell

I'm with you Pilly. Seems like you may be doing better at Nene than me at Robe - normally get 10-12 good days over summer yet so far only had 4. Did miss a couple of days early on and not happy about that given how things have panned out.

Now desperate for any day before the end of march - even considering heading to NZ in April (apparently Taranaki is good around then) but may have to be longer than a day trip!
