The Robe Easter classic has wrapped up for another year.
There where waves, some wind and plenty of good times, and now its time to get the car and kids home and clean all the gear.

There was a small windsurf expressions session on Friday at 1st ramp.
Light a flukey SW side shore wind and flat - 2ft sets.

Thomas White from vicco took out first place, with Scotty mac in 2nd.

Kym symonds took out the ladies.

With mini shredder Kurt Jefferys taking out the juniors.
(keep an eye on this super grom, he's already sailing better then half us older boys)

Gareth Williams managed to walk away with a a new Neil Pryde Fly2 sail, for his dedication, to being on the water the first and longest even tho it was less then marginal the majority of the time.

thanks to all the sponsors and more importantly the crew that made the trip down and helped make the classic what it is.

thanks for the good times on and off the water.

AWESOME WEEKEND!!!!

Big thanks to Pete, Josh and the crew who put it all together.

Windsurfing - great to call it on the Friday as ZERO wind for the rest of the weekend, but VERY trying conditions; and SUP Comps and come try have me hooked.... great fun.

Kurt is SUPER stoked!!!!!! loved the whole comp, just wants more wind for the next one.
as for i enjoyed the whole weekend heaps chilling down the beach, but again would of loved the wind to crank in on one of the days but who can predict that????

Cant wait for next one

I think I must tell you that. I was for 2 month and a half in 2004 in Australia, drove, surfed and windsurfed from Cairns to Adelaide and a lot of people met during the trip was telling me not to go to S.A. for drive it is, not much to see. I can tell you that Robe and the area was quite an amazing stay during my trip, incredible beach, very nice people, I had a blast in that small town!

windsurfing and surfing was ok, but I can just imagine when all is align, must be an awesome spot!
cheers!

An awesome weekend, big thanks to Pete, Josh and the ONBOARD crew for putting on another great weekend of Windsurfing, Kiting and Suppin.

Special mention to Rod from the central coast for bringing the starboard van full of goodies for us all to play with (phoebe now wants the sup that matches her wetsuit).

My arms are so sore from all the paddling I did this weekend,

Good times

Yes, thanks Onboard and Rod for the time and effort you put into making the weekend such a success. I have put some photos of the SUP race day on FB - www.facebook.com/media/set/fbx/?set=a.2031529711905.2126248.1353993216&l=783c127779

an especially big thankyou from me to onboard. was a great weekend and without pete, josh, stewie(and others ive missed) wouldn't happen so well, or probably even at all. thanks also to rod for driving down and getting us out on the sup's. now i need some wind to test out my new pryde sail, hopefully it'll be the needed edge to beat the other boys for the first double forward in s.a.

to set the record straight mcgiver, i splashed a double on the lake at goolwa years ago; maybe 10 yrs?
about 35kts and i was riding slalom gear, 6m. didnt think anyone saw but Peto said some guys came into onboard frothing about it.
i actually only meant to do a single but was crazy overpowered, overrotated and just held on, water started out of it.

if i was riding one of the latest 105 OES quads and had drunk as many beers as i have right now i would've sailed away one handed and done a shove up too.

i hear you're getting married mate-congrats but next it'll be kids and the whole catastrophy and you'll be a dinosaur like me; so you better do your double soon; my shout when u do.

i'll go back to sleep now
